In position for the Park Opening in 1865, the building, construction and design of the Glodwick Road Lodge, Gates and Gate Pillars is closely based on the structures at the Main Entrance.
The second photogaph, just inside the Park shows a raised bed with a lamp post in the middle. This was where the the original Co-operative simply designed Fountain and Lamp Standard, erected in the Market Place in 1859, was moved to for the final time in 1922 and which was subsequently scrapped in 1951 (see Park Main Entrance link for other details of the two Co-operative Fountains)
I do not have any postcards showing this entrance.

View showing the Glodwick Road Entrance Lodge, similar in Design to the one at the Main Park Entrance.

View inside the entrance showing the plinth where one of the Co-operative Fountains once resided.
