ALEXANDRA PARK IN POSTCARDS AND PHOTOGRAPHS
- TENNIS COURTS -

Tennis Courts appear on the 1872 OS map located lower down from the King Street Entrance.

In 1926 seven new style construction Tennis Courts with Pavillion were erected to the right of the Top Walk just below and to one side of the Refreshment Rooms. (shown on the postcard below)

In 2004 with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund the Tennis Courts built in 1926 were removed and the site returned to the original parkland.

At the same time new Tennis Courts were constructed, located in the Park, close to the Main Entrance and can also be accessed on the right through the gates at the side of the Entrance.

Photograph taken 6 Sep 2007.

View taken from the Boating Lake showing the Tennis Courts with the Main Entrance Lodge behind and the pillars with gates of the side entrance.
